Called & Gifted Discernment Process at Epiphany Parish

Have you ever wondered if you are doing what God wants you to do with your life or with your career? Have you ever prayed for God’s guidance on where He wants you to serve? Have you ever felt like God must have a plan for you, but you just can’t figure out what it is?
 
Called & Gifted will help you to discover God’s Call for your life. God is calling you to a unique purpose, a work of love only you can do. You received gifts in Baptism and Confirmation; through which God intends to reach others. Through Called & Gifted, discover these gifts. Discern your charisms (spiritual gifts) and better understand how God is equipping you for your unique purpose. 
 
The Called & Gifted Discernment Program at Epiphany Parish is designed to help Christians discover their spiritual gifts and is made possible by a Spiritual Enrichment Grant through the Archdiocese of Dubuque. The Called & Gifted program consists of 9 sessions which include teachings of the Church on how the charisms of the Holy Spirit work in your life, signs and characteristics of spiritual gifts, call and vocation, as well as the five steps of the discernment process. It also includes a one-on-one gifts interview to help participants evaluate and understand their own spiritual gifts.
 
Meetings will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 722 N. Adams Avenue, Mason City, Iowa

Registration

Registration forms for the 2025 Called and Gifted session are due in the Parish office by August 28, 2025. The fee for registration and cost of materials is $25. You receive:

• 6 months access to the online course videos
• Catholic Spiritual Gifts Inventory that covers the characteristics of 23 of the most common charisms and the discernment process (taken once)
• Called & Gifted Complete Resource Manual
• One-on-one interview with a trained discernment interviewer to help guide your discernment journey

That I had received spiritual gifts (charisms) when I was baptized. 
A rich history about Catholic saints that used their gifts in everyday life. 
Most important, steps to help me discern which gifts God wanted me to discover.
Where did I end up... becoming a part of this community. 
You see, when I signed up for this program, I was not Catholic. I just knew I needed to be a part of this journey. I completed the RCIA class, joined the Catholic family and celebrated my one-year anniversary in early June!
